Responsibilities: Cover roofs with roofing materials such as composition shingles or roof tile, rolled roofing systems, or asphalt and gravel, to waterproof roofs: Cuts roofing paper to size, using knife, and nails or staples to roof in overlapping strips to form base for roofing materials.; Aligns roofing material with edge of roof, and overlaps successive layers, gauging distance of overlap with chalk line, gauge on shingling hatchet, or by lines on shingles.; Fastens composition shingles or roof tiles to roof with asphalt, cement, or nails.; Removes existing roofing systems down to wooden roof deck.; Cuts strips of flashing and fits them into angles formed by walls, vents, and intersecting roof surfaces.; May construct and attach wood sheathing sheets to rafters.

Experience Requirements: Previous Roofing experience; Carpentry experience a plus; Solar experience a plus

Desired Skills: Constantly position self to kneel and bend for an extended time on the roof; Able to work in the elements under conditions that can range from hot to humid and cloudy to cold; Lifting 50+ lbs.; Must be able to ascend/descend ladders; Considerable knowledge of the tools, equipment, materials and methods utilized in roof repairs and installations

Qualifications: The successful candidate will have a valid California driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record and; ability to successfully complete a drug screen and pre-employment background check.
